Maya Vitale

Lab Affiliation: Liz Mallott and Ken Olsen

Maya is the Lab Manager for the Mallott and the Olsen Laboratories in the Department of Biology. In this role, she oversees daily laboratory operations, supports research, and manages day-to-day organization and resources of both labs. She works closely with undergraduate and graduate students, providing guidance on research projects and laboratory techniques. Maya earned a master's degree in animal science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2026), where her thesis research examined the effects of maternal heat stress on epigenetic changes in Holstein cow embryos.
